I would like to take the opportunity to plug a blog written by several well-known Civil War scholars. Civil Warriors is a team blog that has earned acclaim in the form of the “Best Group Blog” award in the 2006 Cliopatria Awards, which recognize online achievement in history, specifically blogging on history. The site is authored by Mark Grimsley, professor of history at Ohio State University, Brooks D. Simpson, professor of history at Arizona State University, Steven Woodworth, professor of history at Texas Christian University, and others . The posts are quite good and occasionally humorous, but seek to examine the recent happenings in Civil War scholarship. The blog posts contain book reviews, interesting takes on military officers and other figures, and posts on seminars and staff rides, among other topics. The blog has a professional feel and contains links to wonderful online resources. This blog is also the inspiration for this site as well. Take a few minutes out of your day and read Civil Warriors, you will not be disappointed.
