Well, better late than never (I can’t believe I forgot about it, as I fully intended to celebrate the occasion on May 14, which was the actual one year mark for this site), but this site is one year old, and what a year it has been. Since the creation of this site one year ago, we have had over 15,000 hits and our readership is increasing. The site is tracked by the fine folks at Civil War Interactive, which motivates me to come up with new content every week, as well as draws readers to the site. I have gained new writers, as well as met fellow bloggers and have learned from them different ways to improve the site. What are my goals for the next year? I would like to reach 30,000 hits by the end of the year and, with your help, I think we can do it. I would also like to gain more writers and turn this site into an awesome group blog. I would also like to see this site earn some web awards, but that may be a little more off in the future. Eventually, I would like to host this site on my own domain, but will have to wait on that until I get more gainful employment. Overall, I have to say that I am quite proud of my “baby”, as it has grown quite a bit in this first year. I only hope that this site will experience continued success in the future. Thank you to everyone who has supported this site over the last year and Happy Birthday to Civil War History.
